Browning has been manufacturing firearms for years, so you’re very likely familiar with the brand. They have a reputation for making a qualify weapon, and reviews are confirming that their Buck Mark pistol lives up to that reputation.

The Buck Mark comes in a 22LR caliber and weighs 34 ounces. Browning notes about the frame that, instead of being manufactured from sheet metal stampings, “each Buck Mark frame is CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum to exacting tolerances.” And, as mentioned earlier, reviewers are really enjoying this firearm. A writer by the name of Eric notes:

At the range the gun shot flawlessly on multiple types of ammo with the one exception of Federal American Eagle. That was the only type of ammo that I found that it would have trouble with. It ran everything else like a champ […].

Eric had more good comments to say about the Buck Mark, but he did also mention two issues that he did not care for with this pistol. He writes,

First the all black front sight. This pistol (and my eyes) scream for a fiber optic front sight. To be fair, other models do offer this option, but their base model does not. If not a necessity, it would certainly be a great improvement as sight acquisition is slow with the current setup. There are aftermarket replaceable front sights which would remedy this.

Eric’s other complaint about the Buck Mark is the trigger shape. He did note that it is a personal preference issue which other shooters may not have an issue with, and he also noted that he adjusted to the “U-shaped” trigger the more that he shot the weapon. He writes,

Before firing the gun I thought that the trigger shape would be a huge deal, but at the range it seemed to just take some getting used to. For lack of a better term, its weird.

Still, if these two “oddities” (both of which can be changed with aftermarket parts, if you choose) don’t bother you, you may want to consider putting your hands on a Buck Mark and taking it out to the range. After all, every day is a good day for some enjoyable range work.
