When it comes to political violence, most people tend to think of terrorist attacks such as politically motivated shootings, bombings, and vehicle attacks (like we saw in New Orleans at New Years).
It should go without saying that, no matter what your politics, violence over political positions is evil and wrong.
Having said that, there are apparently quite a few Americans who advocate for violence. Now, contrary to what the mainstream legacy media keeps telling people, calls for political violence are overwhelmingly from political leftists and directed against political conservatives.
But not this time. This time, the calls for violence are against Democrats, but the calls for that violence aren’t coming from Republicans or political conservatives. In fact, you may be surprised about who is calling for Democrat politicians to be shot. Rebeka Zeljko writes,
“Some [Democratic supporters] have suggested … what [Democrat politicians] really need to do is be willing to get shot,” another Democrat said.
These lawmakers, most of whom spoke to Axios on the condition of anonymity, also said most of these voters were “white, well educated, and live in upscale suburban or urban neighborhoods.”
“What I have seen is a demand that we get ourselves arrested intentionally or allow ourselves to be victims of violence, and … a lot of times that’s coming from economically very secure white people,” one Democrat said.
That’s right, “white, well educated” Democrat supporters want their own politicians to get shot.
It’s absolutely bizarre.
Now, to be fair, they apparently want Democrat politicians to get arrested and/or shot for the media coverage that it would give from the left-leaning mainstream legacy media. There weren’t calls (that I’m aware of) for Democrat politicians to get killed for the photo oops.
Whatever the reason, though, it’s absolutely evil to call for people to intentionally get hurt to further your personal political beliefs. And, of course, the people calling for these awful things are people that aren’t willing to step up and be shot themselves to push their agenda.
Typical leftist thinking, in my observation.
Maybe this insanity will cause Democrat politicians to wake up to how dangerous a position that they are in with pushing policies that try to strip Americans of basc rights (like the Second Amendment) and with many of their supporters willing to sacrifice their politicians on the alter of anti-gun and other leftist policies.
Until they do, we need to continue to work to educate Americans and to elect politicians that care about the Constitution.
