Mass shootings are horrible things. I’d like to think that most people can agree on that statement. School shootings are, possibly, the worst kinds of mass shootings because they involve our most precious things in life: our children. I’d like to think that we can all agree on that, too.
Sadly, though most people agree that those types of events are terrible and that we all want them to occur less frequently, those on the anti-2A side of the political spectrum consistently make blatantly false statements to support their position pushing for gun control and gun confiscation.
Beyond the dishonesty, the problem with not telling the truth about mass shootings and school shootings, in particular, is that, without accurate information, people aren’t able to understand what is going on in these situations to put together solutions that can actually work. Without accurate information to start from, any reasoning based off of it is much more likely to come to wrong conclusions.
And one of the most common lies told by the anti-2A propagandists is that mass shootings and school shootings are a uniquely American (with our high rate of gun ownership) tragedy.
But a recent awful story out of Russia proves that just isn’t the case. The Associated Press gives us details:
A Russian girl shot several classmates at school Thursday, killing one person and wounding five others before killing herself, state news agencies and authorities said.
The shooting happened at a school in Bryansk, a city in a region of the same name that borders Ukraine, Russia’s Investigative Committee said.
This is absolutely awful. There’s no question about that.
But this isn’t the first time that this has happened even if it’s the first time that you’ve heard of it. Again, from The Associated Press:
In September 2022, a gunman opened fire in a school in central Russia, killing 17 people and wounding 24 others before shooting himself dead.
In April 2022, a man killed two children and a staff member at a kindergarten also in central Russia.
In May 2021, a man opened fire at students at his former high school in the Russian city of Kazan, killing nine people including seven children.
In 2018, an 18-year-old student in Crimea killed 20 people in a mass shooting at a college.
These are all terrible. None of them should have happened.
But these tragedies aren’t uniquely American with our uniquely high rate of firearms ownership. They happen in other parts of the world. They’ve been happening in other parts of the world for some time.
But anti-2A politicians and their cronies in the mainstream legacy media don’t want you to know that, and that’s why you haven’t been hearing about them. Because once you know about that, it’s harder to buy their lie that legal gun ownership drives school shootings.
Leftist anti-second amendment refuse to admit that criminal control and mental health treatment are far more effective and do not violate the U.S. Constitution.
Fact: In 1985 then Senator Joe Biden (D-DE) stated quote: “I am convinced that a criminal who wants a firearm can get one through illegal, untraceable, unregistered sources, with or without gun control.”
Fact: In 1990 then Senator Joe Biden (D-DE) authored the Gun Free School Zone Act. And yet we see that these ‘gun free zones’ are where most of these heinous crimes take place.
Fact: In 2022 Republicans, sent a Bill to vote it would have provided School funding for: Police / Armed guard(s), Single point of entry & Teacher training. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) killed it in favor of Gun Confiscation.
Fact: Democrats want us to believe that people / professional criminals included, who are willing to ignore laws against rape, torture, kidnapping, robbery, theft, and murder will MAGICALLY obey a law which prohibits them from owning a firearm”.
Historic Fact: Governments have disarmed and executed over 262 million of their own people in the 20th Century. So, please tell me again why Governments should be the only one with guns?

It is not a GUN PROBLEM if it was we would have seen it in the early 1900’s before GUN CONTROL and SOFT ON CRIME became popular …
One of the things is that a long time ago (several years back)talked about soft targets.shortly after that school shootings started to happen much more often for they are the softest targets of all.so more beyond the time to harden up our schools so there would be less shootings in them.
If any politician was serious about protecting our most vulnerable, our most vulnerable would have the same security measures that are in place in government offices. I have been saying this for years… They know what works to protect themselves and yet they will not provide our children with the same security measures that they have. It leads me to believe that they believe that our children are expendable to them for their greater aim of gun control and confiscation.
If I am wrong in this thesis, please explain to me why their children are protected by armed guards in private schools and why our children are protected by gun free zones and their workplaces have high level of armed guards while ours do not.
They wish to rule over us and will use our deaths and the death of our children for their ultimate aim which is an unarmed populace that will be their subjects and not their equals under the law.
Wrong..wrong..wrong. only want assault weapons gone from public use or position. Not 2A rights.. HELLO!
The people who wrote the constitution did not just win their freedom and create a country after a massive deer attack. At that time every firearm was adaptable to military use, and most of the rifles were privately owned. The state of the art was a smoothbore musket, as issued works wide. Riches were too slow, and had different training requirements that a conscript might not be able to master. Up until 1934 the general population had access to better and faster weapons than the military issued. Other that the violence associated with prohibition it was relatively peaceful. Blaming violence on guns is pointless, as the gun dies not do the shooting, anymore of han the car does the driving when some gets a DUI.
I would suggest that “Pad” read & understand why the 2nd amendment is in our constitution. The civilians in this country should be armed “on par” with the government. I do not trust the government as far as I can spit! There are only two reasons we have lifetime politicians in our government, money & power.
