Should You Get This ‘More Ban-Proof’ Rifle INSTEAD Of An AR-15?

AR-15s may be the most popular type of rifle in America, but, as you know, they are also the firearm most targeted by anti-2A zealots. Of course, those who keep trying to ban ARs are doing so out of pure ignorance under the assumption that ARs are the firearm used in most mass shootings (they aren’t, not by a mile).

Still, even though they’re ignorant, those zealots have managed to make it difficult to get an AR in many parts of the country, so, at least one manufacturer decided to design a rifle that would be “more ban-proof.”

What is that rifle? Adam Borisenko gives us details:

The [CMMG DISSENT] Br4 is essentially a new lower receiver design that uses Remington 870-pattern stocks and is compatible with CMMG’s Mk4 DISSENT upper groups. These use the company’s Compact Action which eliminates the need for a buffer tube system and enables the use of 870 stocks, resulting in AR-style firearms that have ergonomics like traditional rifles and that can be sold in 47 states.

Dissent Br4 rifles feature reversible non-reciprocating side charging handles, reversible cross-bolt safeties, adjustable gas blocks, free-floated M-LOK handguards and ZEROED single-stage triggers. The mag release is also extended and ambidextrous, and the rifles are available in several Cerakote colors. The line is initially being launched with seven chambering options, including 5.56 NATO, .300 BLK, 9mm, .350 Legend, 6.5 Grendel, 6mm ARC and 22 ARC, but more calibers are expected to be released in the future.

Now, that information may already get you excited, especially if you live in a state hostile to legal private gun ownership. If you want more to get your heart pumping, though, you can see this firearm in action in the video below.

Clearly, Officer Gregg in that video loves this rifle, and he had a great time making some nice shots with it.

If that excites you, too (especially if you live in AR-unfriendly areas), then, the CMMG DISSENT Br4 may be a firearm to consider.
