In the current political arena in America, Republicans tend to run on a platform that includes protecting the Second Amendment rights of Americans. For many Americans, that (sometimes implied) pledge to protect Second Amendment rights is one of, if not the, most important policy positions causing them to vote Republican instead of giving the voting finger to both major parties.

But it looks like quite a few Republicans in Congress don’t care about their promises to you and voted to strip you of your Second Amendment rights. You read that right. Fifty-seven sitting Republican members of Congress voted to strip Americans of gun rights. Aidan Johnston gives us the list of the 39 Republican members of the House who betrayed gun owners:

Johnston also gives us a list of the 18 sitting Republican Senators who voted to strip you of your gun rights:

These are people who took the faith and trust of American voters who trusted them to uphold the Constitution and to protect our Constitutional rights from people like Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer. They took our trust, and they betrayed it.

These people don’t deserve to get reelected. In fact, these people should all be impeached for violation of their oath of office. You should do everything that you legally, morally, and ethically can to make sure that these people never get elected to public office again.

  1. Portman(R-OH) isn’t running for re-election. He has always portrayed himself as Pro-Second Amendment. Obviously he is a gun control advocate when he no longer needs your vote. Hypocrite is the word I am looking for, I think.

  2. You need to specify in your article exactly HOW these individuals betrayed our 2nd Amendment rights. Was it rhetoric, bills they sponsored or voted for, what exactly did they do? For instance, I would like to confront Amodei about it because I am a Nevada resident, but I am not going to write or call because your article doesn’t give any specifics that I can address with him, just names some names. This is lazy, sloppy reporting or just plain rabble rousing without the facts included.

    • I agree with you. I can’t reasonably attack Mark Amodei without knowing what it was he voted for, failed to vote for or voted against. Did he vote for the omnibus bill which may have had a minor impact on gun rights? What exactly is his crime. I need to know the answer so that I can make an educated decision as to whether his action was, in my opinion, an attack on gun rights.

    • Jeff, You are CORRECT. We need to know exactly what we are protesting.— ALA senator, RICHARD SHELBY is N O T running for reelection. SO —-HE cares N O T for those who supported him for decades. That clearly identifies him as an UNDISCIPLINED , DON’T CARE “POOLITITION”

  4. The 2nd Amendment does not grant any Right. It is a restriction of government. Our Rights predate the Constitution. Read the Declaration of Independence and the Second Amendment. Anything granted by the government to the people can be taken away by the government. The Framers did not want any Amendments added to the Constitution. The States insisted on them and refused to sign off on the Constitution without them. The Framers were correct. The Second Amendment has done nothing to protect our Right to self-defense.

    • Finally! Someone who can read. The Declaration of Independence states pretty clearly that these rights have been given to us by God… not the government in any of its guises. The Bill of Rights accepts the principles set forth in both The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and seeks to further clarify what is meant by “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness” and what is meant by “a more perfect union.” and what governments “instituted among men deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”
      are allowed to do.

  5. 2nd. Amendment : A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
    Show me in the 2nd. Amendment were anyone can make any laws against gun ownership …

  9. I agree with Jeff about specifics, but also know that republicans cannot be believed anymore than demonrats. All politicians are in the game of control for their own gain, and I wouldn’t trust them as far as I could throw them. The 2 party system is just a joke which has proven it does not work for the people as there isn’t a nickel’s worth of difference between them. Thank God the whole “government” will be replaced hopefully sooner than later.

  10. If any of these Rhinos are in your District, you know what to do in May and November! Vote their sorry asses out of office. Go in person to cast your Voice. We needed Congressional Term Limits long ago. There’s a huge problem with long carrier political sellouts! That cater to big money Special interests n their greed. And not representing Law abiding taxpaying American citizens ! They will not stop trying to take yours and my Constitutional Liberties.     • I would add to your post that it seems obvious to me that besides term limits, there should be a law defining age limits.

  14. Im done! i have voted for cole and bice, on the promise to vote in favor of the second amendment, free speech and freedom of religion . I’m disappointed especially republican bice , when she was running for office for the first time she said she was 100% second amendment. i am very disappointed in both of them . they both berried that knife in my back and everyone else thet voted for them. you can’t trust anyone running for office , Biden and the democrats cheeted their way into the office of the president (PROVEN BY EVIDENCE ) TRUST is just another word lost forever.   18. one question i will ask , is how many helped progress 2nd amendment rights for us? what have they done did they introduce any legislation to protect our rights? Terry Johnson who represents my district along with Mr. Bill Johnson , introduced the bill , which is the reason OHIO now has open carry. both of these fellas not only say they are pro gun , they do what they say. i hope that in the future, the counties not being properly represented , can get someone who will. people can twist words around, put their own spin as to what the constitution says , maybe reword all the amendments, still , people behind disarmament of citizens, for whatever reason ,need to go. by the way, i hear Mr. Biden speak on ‘one world order’ he needs to go to.

  19. The major problems I see with this article are simple: 1. Without saying what they did nobody knows if the article is factual. 2. this article could be written by someone who’s telling us these reps voted against 2A rights when in fact they voted for them and the writer wants us pissed off to vote them out. We have no way of knowing. I for one, will call my reps and find out what they have or have not done so I know, and I can check the congressional vote to see how they voted on any bill.

  21. OK you didn’t specify what they did against our 2nd amendment rights. So We should look into their voting records to find out what they have been up to. This is OUR responsibility to become informed through our own fact finding not to just trust someone else to tell us what they think.
    Do your just diligence, and then vote our conscience.
