This Story Perfectly Shows The Reality Of Private Gun Ownership

The conversation around private gun ownership in America has been pushed from a specific viewpoint by anti-gunners and their lapdogs in the national mainstream media and leftist politicians. That viewpoint is the idea that guns, in and of themselves, create more violence and death simply by being in existence.

Now, if you completely ignore human nature and the realities of human motivations and interactions, then, this thinking by anti-gunners might make sense to you. After all, guns are a weapon designed for causing injury and/or death to whoever the firearm is pointed at.

Of course, you and I know that firearms are just tools, and, like all tools, firearms can be used for good or evil purposes.

Today, we are looking at a story out of a state not known for their gun rights which shows that a good guy with a gun can be the difference maker in saving lives. Yes, you can save lives with a gun even in the State of New York. Natalie Dascoulias writes,

Demetrius Jackson, the man killed in the Lodi Street shooting on Tuesday, was in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun while outside of 1808 Lodi Street, District Attorney William Fitzpatrick said.

Jackson threatened multiple people at the location and fired the loaded handgun in the direction of those people, officials said.

Another man, who was on scene and in possession of a 9mm handgun returned fire striking and killing Jackson, Fitzpatrick said.

Dascoulias continues:

The District Attorney said in a statement that based on preliminary investigation, it appears the man who shot Jackson saved the lives of several individuals.

That’s right, the good guy with the gun saved several lives, but you’re not likely to ever hear this story on any national mainstream media news source (except, maybe, Fox News) and their political cronies because it doesn’t fit their “guns are only and always used for evil” narrative.

The dishonesty on anti-gunners’ part is disgusting.

  1. Or more! estimated 400,000 crimes stopped each year by good people with guns, and roughly 38,000 from “gun deaths.” Of those more than half are suicides, and 80% of the rest are gang/drug issues. So that leaves less than 10,000 and those are from robberies, police having to shoot criminals, etc. Now the anti-gunners want to get us to believe that getting rid of guns many save some of those less than 10,000- but of course criminals won’t obey gun laws anyway. Feinstein and others forget that those 400,000 prevented crimes by those protecting themselves and others with legal guns would then be cancelled, and those 400,000 crimes would be multiplied. So who is getting the benefit of getting rid of guns, or trying to? Only the criminals.

    • You are right; the lawmakers know fully well that criminals – by definition – are lawbreakers and they don’t about that. All they care about is enslaving We The People and they don’t think about the fact that dead people make lousy slaves and don’t “follow orders” at all.

    • Dan – the ‘guesstimate’ about DGU (defensive gun use) runs as high as two MILLION annually, depending on which source one uses. The part that really irritates the antis is that the vast majority of those uses Do Not Result In A Single Round being fired. It is ‘almost’ as if they don’t want to acknowledge that the mere presence of an armed individual CAN stop a crime.
BTW – even if one uses the lower figure – and ‘counts’ all of the people shot annually, that is still a relatively small percentage. Oh yeah, I ‘almost’ forgot that the cdc wants to ‘research’ “gun violence” under their new head (who admitted in public that she hates guns) hid the data on DGU for decades. Seems that the facts didn’t fit the agenda…………
